Yesterday, the Director-General of the Niger State Bureau of Religious Affairs, Imam (Dr.) Umar Farooq Abdullahi, mpi, has attended the Empowerment Program organized by the Halymah Ibrahim Babangida Foundation.
The empowerment program, which brought together beneficiaries from different backgrounds, was designed to promote self-reliance, economic independence, and social development among youths and women across the state.
In his speech, he commended the Halymah Ibrahim Babangida Foundation for its commitment to humanitarian service and grassroots empowerment. He described the initiative as timely and impactful, noting that empowering citizens economically aligns with moral, religious, and societal values that encourage dignity of labour and communal progress.
The Director-General further noted the value of collaborative efforts between government institutions, religious bodies, and philanthropic organizations in tackling poverty and social challenges. He reaffirmed the Niger State Government’s continued support for initiatives that promote peace, unity, and sustainable development.
The event featured the distribution of empowerment materials and support packages to beneficiaries, who expressed appreciation to the Foundation for the life-changing initiative. The program concluded with prayers for continued peace, prosperity, and development in Niger State.
